October 17th, 2020 is a day that had us blushing! Our first backyard wedding decoration in East Islip , New York. Could not have been any more beautiful with the rain clearing out just in time for the big day.

Alexa and Tyler originally planned to have a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic but unfortunately Covid had other plans. We were so excited when Fab Day Events reached out for our help in putting together some amazing arrangements for their new day. Being a one of the best wedding florist in Long Island NY, we were lucky enough to be just a short distance away from their venue making it even more convenient. We also can’t forget to mention they planned this wedding in just a few weeks—working out to be the same day they would have been tying the knot at town hall in preparation for their destination nuptials!

Alexa’s aesthetic was very classic, light and airy; blushes and whites were the two main colors that stood out. With the wedding taking place at Islip Grange (a beautiful park in Sayville, New York) there was already a lot of greenery, so finding colors that highlighted that was important to her.

After discussing her vision, we chose a white rose tibet, white hydrangeas, blush roses (which popped perfectly against the white), and a blush lisianthus to add some more color and a touch of romance! With the groomsmen dawning navy blue suits and her bridesmaids dressed in a classic blush, these florals further highlighted the bridal parties tones.

We went with dahlia’s for the centerpiece accompanied by other stems of greenery atop a wood round providing a beautiful, full focal point for the table that also felt light and natural. To complete their arrangements, we designed a floral arch for their ceremony as well as greenery for the tent.

Alexa did a great job at mapping out what she was looking for when choosing her Long Island wedding florist. When you are planning your wedding florals in New York , the best place to start is considering your venue and/or the time of year that your wedding is taking place. Blushes and whites are perfect for summer or an outdoor venue that already has a lot of natural greenery. Getting married in the fall or winter or in the city? Red roses or any flowers that are bright in color will pop against the grays and blacks found in a cityscape! During your free consultation we will discuss your vision and take everything into consideration to make your arrangements unforgettable—and have your guests swooning!

We feel so lucky to have been part of such a beautiful wedding day. We have to say, our 2020 brides have taken the changes in stried, kept their smile, and haven’t forgotten what this day is truly meant to be—a celebration of love.
